Cetona is a small medieval village of about 53
sq km with 3000 inhabitants located in the Valdichiana countryside,
80 km south east of Siena.
Its territory includes a mountainous area, Monte
Cetona, known in ancient times as Monte Piesi, and a hilly area that
slopes towards the plain, the Valley of Astrone. Cetona, located at
385 mt above sea level, also includes Piazze, Belverde and
